Audience Profile

Sam Lee Jones

This is the person we have chosen to look at for our audience profile. His name is Sam Lee Jones, he is 17 and is a fan of rock music. We can see this from the bio on his Twitter profile, as he states that he is a fan and also tells us that he enjoys playing guitar - particularly Metallica, who are a rock group. His profile picture backs this up as it shows a boy playing guitar, tying in with his bio. He also mentions that he enjoys horror films, which may be something to consider and/or incorporate into our own video, in order to provide a better experience for our target audience.

His profile design also suggests that he is a fan of rock music as it is very grunge-y and compliments his music taste. Black often suggests connotations of rock music so it would  be useful to consider using dark colours in out music video, as these are popular colours throughout rock culture. 

Sam's tweets also tells us that he is a fan of rock music, as he regularly tweets about bands that he likes as well as directly tweeting bands of this genre, discussing his appreciation for their music. He also tweets about general, everyday topics showing that he is quite casual and laid back - this could also reflect his music taste as he does not specifically stick to one sub genre of rock but has a diverse taste. This diversity is further displayed in the people that Sam follows.

Sam follows people such as The Darkness, Kasabian and Nickelback, as well as Metallica. In addition to the aforementioned points, this displays that he is a fan of rock music and that his tastes are quite diverse within the rock genre. Looking at the people that Sam follows will benefit us a lot because it means that we can take a closer look at the various types of music that our audience would enjoy. We could also use this information to look at various videos from similar artists in order to get a better feel of what would usually be included in such videos.
